National Sports Day Celebration at IHMS!

🏆On National Sports Day, the Department of Management at IHMS organized an exciting array of sports activities, bringing together students to celebrate the spirit of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. The energy and enthusiasm of our students were truly infectious, making the day a memorable one for everyone involved.

A special congratulations to Team Aayush from the boys’ division and Team Sanjeevni from the girls’ division for emerging victorious in the Tug of War competition! Your strength, unity, and determination were on full display, and we are proud of your achievement.

The event not only highlighted the importance of physical fitness but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among our students. It was a day of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Tree Plantation Drive 2024

IHMS is proud to announce the successful completion of our “Tree Plantation Drive,” organized by the Department of Management in collaboration with the Lansdowne Forest Range. Our dedicated students came together with a shared mission to contribute to a greener, healthier planet, planting over 150 trees in a remarkable effort to give back to Mother Earth. 🌳🌱

Tree plantation is not just an act of beautifying our surroundings—it’s a vital step towards combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring a sustainable future. Trees act as the lungs of our planet, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, while also providing habitat for countless species, preventing soil erosion, and contributing to the overall health of our ecosystem. This initiative is a testament to IHMS’s commitment to fostering environmental stewardship among our students and the community. Together, we’re planting seeds of hope and sustainability for generations to come.

IHMS Orientation Programme Batch 2024

From July 22nd to July 26th, 2024, Institute of Hospitality, Management & Sciences (IHMS, Kotdwar) proudly hosted its 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, a transformative week dedicated to welcoming and preparing our new students for their exciting journey ahead. The event featured a series of engaging sessions and activities designed to provide valuable insights and build a strong foundation for their academic and personal growth.

We were honored to have 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐋𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚 grace us as the chief guests at our special yoga session. Their presence added a touch of serenity and mindfulness to our program, helping students start their IHMS journey with a balanced and positive mindset.

Celebrating Excellence at Pratibha Samman Samaroh! 🌟 We are thrilled to share the success of our recent event, “Pratibha Samman Samaroh,” held on June 8, 2024, at Institute of Hospitality, Management & Sciences – IHMS, Kotdwar. This special occasion honored the remarkable achievements of meritorious students from Pauri Garhwal District who scored above 80% in their 12th exams.

The event was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and brilliance of these young minds. Institute of Hospitality, Management & Sciences – IHMS, Kotdwar is thrilled to share that our impact lecture on “𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐘 𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 (𝐈𝐏𝐑)” held on May 18, 2024, was a resounding success!

Our distinguished guest speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐡, Associate Professor in the CSE Department at H N B Garhwal University, UK, and former Assistant Controller of Patents and Designs at The Patent Office, Kolkata, delivered an insightful and engaging session. Dr. Nath’s vast experience and expertise in the field of IPR provided our attendees with valuable knowledge and a deeper understanding of the complexities and importance of intellectual property rights.

The seminar hall was filled with enthusiastic students and faculty members, all eager to learn and discuss the current trends and future directions in the realm of IPR. This event not only enriched our understanding but also inspired many to delve deeper into the world of intellectual property.

The event featured our esteemed guest speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐨𝐤 𝐆𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐚, Proprietor of Alok Gupta & Associates, Patent Agent (IN/PA 4384) & Trade Mark Attorney (40444), and Registered IP Mitra (Patent Facilitator) under the SIPP scheme.

Dr. Gupta’s extensive experience and insights into the world of intellectual property provided invaluable knowledge to our attendees.

Held in the Seminar Hall, the lecture was well-attended by students and faculty members eager to deepen their understanding of IPR. Dr. Gupta’s engaging presentation covered the essentials of intellectual property rights, the significance of patents and trademarks, and the role of IP in fostering innovation and protecting creative works.

The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and Q&A, gaining clarity on various aspects of IPR. This event was a testament to our commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences and fostering a culture of continuous learning and intellectual growth.

Workshop on Eating Table Etiquettes 2022-23

The Department of Hotel Management at IHMS, Kotdwar, hosted a session titled “Eating Table Etiquette for all IHMS Staff.” This session provided all the information about good eating Eating Etiquette The session was conducted by Mr. Ajay Bisht, Assistant Professor, Department of Hotel Management, IHMS. Mr. Ajay Bisht will share his hotel experience.

Workshop on Dining Etiquettes 2022-23

The Department of Hotel Management organized a two-day session on “Dining Etiquettes” for all non teaching staff of institute under MDP on 25^th & 26^th Feb 2022 by Mr. Pankaj Kukreti. The main objective of this session was as follows-

The “Dining Etiquettes” workshop for non-teaching staff enhances professionalism and interpersonal skills for social and professional dining. Participants refine table manners, communication, and conduct through practical demonstrations and interactive activities. Emphasis on proper attire, seating arrangements, and graceful handling of challenging situations ensures positive institute representation. Feedback sessions and goal-setting exercises were tailored to the specific needs of the participants, ensuring that each individual had the opportunity to cultivate confidence and sophistication in navigating diverse dining environments. By the end of the workshop, these 16 participants emerged equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to represent their institute with poise and professionalism during various social and professional engagements.

Sanitization for personal hygiene during corona 2021-22

A very informative and important session on the topic

Sanitization for personal hygiene during Corona” for non-teaching staff was organized by the department of hotel management, which is led by Mr. Madhusudan Adhikari, a senior assistant professor at the college.

In two days workshop we covers all topics regarding hygiene during the Corona Period.

Key practices emphasized during this period included:

- Regular and thorough washing of hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place, touching surfaces, or after coughing, sneezing, or blowing one’s nose.
- Using hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol when soap and water were not available.
  - Wearing face masks in public settings, particularly where social distancing measures were difficult to maintain, such as in grocery stores or on public transportation
  - Ensuring masks covered both the nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of the face without gaps.
    - Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of the elbow, followed by immediate handwashing or use of hand sanitizer.
    - Proper disposal of used tissues and masks.
      - Regular cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects and surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, and mobile phones, using appropriate disinfectants.
        Maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from others to minimize close contact and potential virus transmission.
        Avoiding crowded places and large gatherings.
