Department of Hotel Management at IHMS, Kotdwar offered an under graduate and Certificate to cater to the modern industry requirements. The curriculum is designed keeping in mind the contemporary styles and traditional cultures of the hospitality sector and is delivered as a blend of theory and practical. Facilities at IHMS are designed to provide the students the best education and training possible in the field, keeping in mind their all round development. During the course of study, the students are exposed to meticulous insights of hotel operations concerning the four major departments – Food Production, F & B Service, Hotel Housekeeping and Front Office. Apart from this students also gain proficiency in allied subjects such as Hotel Accountancy, Hygiene & Sanitation, Business Communication, Sales &Marketing, Food Science & Nutrition, Law, Human Resource Management & much more. IHMS has all set’s of laboratories with latest facilities for practical training. All the labs are spacious with modern planning. Students also undergo a six months industrial training in reputed Star Hotels as a mandate to complete the course.

The college believes in developing a sense of responsibility and a holistic approach within the student while focusing on a detailed structure of hospitality, hotels, catering, and other related aspects. The students are not just challenged intellectually but also trained under industry specialists and mentors, which encourages their entrepreneurial ability.

Beyond academics, the department aims to remodel the overall personality of the individual by honing their soft skills and grooming attributes; thus molding them into perfect hospitality professionals. The close bonding between teachers and students helps in complete development and growing skills of the students.

The college periodically organizes activities /workshops on – Bartending skill, Flower arrangement skills, Intra departmental culinary competitions, Bakery skills, Theme Lunches, Front office role play sessions and quizzes.

The college has highly accomplished faculty team, drawn from academics, supplemented by visiting faculty within and from reputed institutions and professionals from the Hospitality and Services sector.
