Department of business management of the institute of hospitality management &sciences, Kotdwar, organized a POSTER MAKING COMPETITION ON BUSINESS SUSTAINABLE for BBA Department on 22 February 2023 at 11 am. The aim of conducting this competition was to check the creative and artistic skills of the students. There were 8 teams with 7-8 members in each from different semesters.
The suggested themes of the competition were:
• Women entrepreneurship
• Business environment
• Start-Ups
• CSR
• Social media in business
• Green practices in business
• Financial system in India
• Business leadership
The total time allotted for the activity was two hours. The judges of the competition were Col. B. S. Gosain (Director of Administration) and Mr. Ajay Raj Negi (Executive Director). The decision regarding the winners was made on the basis of the following criteria:
• Design
• Presentation
• Content

On 24th November 2022, the Department of Business Management of IHMS organized a CSR activity in “Cleanliness Drive of the Historical Place Kanvashram Kotdwar” in collaboration with “Do Something Society”, Kanvanagri Kotdwar. There were 4 mentors from the business management department, HOD Mr. Surendra Singh Jagwan, and faculties Mr.Pranjal Rawat, Mr. Pardeep Bhatt, and Ms. Mamta. Each mentor has been allotted 1 team and each team has been allotted a different location near Kanvashram.

The main purpose of this program was to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits. For this noble activity, IHMS Management provided financial contributions. Under this program, all the students of BBA participated. Even faculties were an essential part of this drive. As a part of this Cleanliness Drive, we cleaned the nearby area.
This workshop developed a sense of responsibility among IHMS students toward Cleanliness and its benefits. It was a unique experience for all of us and we are hoping for more steps will be taken in the future.

On 12th December 2022, a workshop was organized at the Institute of Hospitality Management and Sciences on how to do social empowerment with ideal education. In which the chief guest was Mrs. Shweta Choubey, Senior Superintendent of Police of Pauri district and the special guest was Col. Bakul Gosain. Col. Gosain presented his thoughts and experiences to all the students. He said that in every situation you should move forward with a positive attitude and learn to solve problems. Shweta Choubey ji gave credit to her education for fighting various challenges in her life. He said that after getting a good education, your responsibility towards the society goes later. Education gives you equal opportunities, but in the field in which you can do better, say that work and do the work of change and empowerment according to the society.

An IPR Awarness Program has organized by Institute of Hospitality Management & Scinecs Kotdwar

The workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) awareness program is  under the flagship of Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness Campaign (KAPILA).

Department of Business Management is organizing the seminar on “Fair Digital Finance” on 3 November 2022. The keynote speaker for this seminar was Dr. Preeti Rani, HOD, Dept. of Commerce, Govt. P.G College Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. She shared her knowledge and experience among students.

The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, IHMS Kotdwar has organized an Inter School/College techno-competitive event INNOTECH’22 on Saturday, 3rd December 2022.
The event provided a fine opportunity to the students to explore the world of technology and also added technological awareness.

Event was organized in two categories:
Category 1 : Innovative Projects (Science & Computer Science based projects).
Category 2 : Technical Quiz

All projects and Technical Quiz were judged by our resource person Dr. Siddharth Ghansela, Assistant Professor, G B Pant Engineering College, Ghurdauri, Pauri Garhwal.

Table Etiquette Workshop was organized on 22 November 2022 at the Institute of Hospitality Management and Sciences. In which Mr. Ajay, Assistant Professor, Hotel Management Department of IHMS Institute, Kotdwar gave information about the methods and behavior of having food at the table. Workshop was organized for all teaching and non teaching staff.

For the first time IHMS, Kotdwar, organised a guest lecture on Ergonomics – A way to maintain healthy life. The lecture was deliberated by Dr. Shivani Lall (Senior Physiotherapist) which emphasized on common problems and their ergonomic solutions related to neck pain, back pain, knee pain etc. She also taught simple exercises to get rid of these pains. The lecture ended with personal discussions with students and faculty of their pains/problems.
